Hi, I'm Lauren! I'm a freelance journalist and audio producer based in Brooklyn.
I write, produce podcasts and radio stories, conduct oral histories, fact-check, and copy edit. I love stories that incorporate little-known history, unpack important local issues, and/or involve people making unexpected choices.
I recently launched a podcast for NYC's only worker-owned news outlet, Hell Gate. My work has aired on NPR's All Things Considered and appeared in The New York Times and New York, among many other publications. I've worked with production companies including Prologue Projects, Campside Media, and Awfully Nice, and helped produce the indie podcast 2 Lives.
I used to be the senior editor at Amtrak's onboard magazine, The National (RIP). I studied history and creative writing at Dartmouth College, and audio storytelling at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. Check out my work here:
