I'm Lauren Vespoli, an NYC-based journalist and audio producer.
I'm currently a senior editor at The New York Times Upfront, the Times' magazine for teens (published by Scholastic), where I edit and write stories explaining everything from A.I. companions to the Supreme Court.
My previous work spans podcast and radio production (Hell Gate, NPR, Prologue Projects) local features writing (The New York Times, NYMag), and editing for travel and culture magazines (Amtrak's The National, United Airlines' Hemispheres & Rhapsody).
I <3 NY and have lived in the city for over a decade. Outside of work you can find me playing viola in the Brooklyn Community Orchestra or running and biking around town.
I studied history and creative writing at Dartmouth College, and audio storytelling at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. Check out some of my work here:
